Here I am, clearly befuddled, and like my site running over bandwidth, I remain capable though trapped in a metaphorical ladybug. |
Last Wednesday YAHOO! bestowed a great honor upon my newspaper. The honor of Yahoo Pick of the Day, and what a treat that was. I got so many new readers and so many kind words that day. Some of these letters have even been added to my mission statement. But even shiny stuff that's pretty can be a sword, specifically a double-edged one*.
So one thing leads to another, next thing you know, I exceed my bandwidth. Now, my host is really good about watching sites (especially towards the end of the month) to make sure they don't go over their bandwidth limit and need more added to their hosting plan, but Yahoo Pick of the Day was during the first week of the month, so it ran over and no one saw it coming.
I ran out of bandwidth and had to scramble to get the site back online. I've been pretty occupied employing my newfound crawling skills to the ends of chewing whatever has not been taken out of my reach. As such, it took me a couple days.
Since the site was down for over two days, it had a muy big negative impact on the site, and I need your help.
Tell just two friends about the site. There's even little buttons on each page. You can do it, I just know there's stuff in here worth passing along.
Link to me from your site. It's so much fun doing it too. If you have a friend who has a site, maybe ask them. I'm really good about linking back to those sites too.
Contribute. Even if just $3. For just the price of a cup of coffee, three thousand people will be able to see my site for free.
If all else is too much to ask, come back tomorrow and see what's new with me.
Being Yahoo Pick of the Day taught me some very important lessons. Clearest is that I need some more bandwidth. But also very importantly is that I've got some news to report, and for now at least, I commit to bringing you the news as best my bitty fingers can type it to you.
Your Pal,
Brendan
