Life can be stressful sometimes, and we know it as well as anybody. Our preschool, kindergarten and 4th grade lives are hectic. We've got homework that goes even beyond tracing letters and counting numbers, plus we have to play a bunch, plus we run one of the biggest syndicated parenting advices columns of the century. Stone Soup Theatre in Seattle, Washington, is proud to present their 3rd annual showing of "A Child's Christmas in Wales." I've never seen it before, but then again I've only seen non-puppet live theater once in my life, and it was much too hot to be Christmas. This was a fun show on many levels, so let me run down the reasons I recommend it. |

We've been reviewing puppet shows at Northwest Puppet Center for about three years now, and the new and varied offerings they put up each season never cease to amaze us. December first through 23rd of each year, the Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah welcomes the real Santa Claus to their landing-convenient north-facing slope. I've seen my fair share of fake Santas over the years, but none bothered to bring a full complement of reindeer along for the illusion. There was a place we went to fairly early in our travels that struck us so singularly we just didn't know how to properly cover it short of spending three or four days writing it up. The Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana has so much to see, experience and enjoy, it was a real struggle to figure out what to write up to truly pay them tribute. So after much deliberation, delay, and staff meetings we finally decided the single best feature of the place is everything. |
